Location
Situated within 25 minutes' walk of the oval Colosseum Amphitheatre, the comfortable Da Vinci Hotel Rome features Wi-Fi in public areas and public parking nearby. Thanks to its convenient location, the 4-star guest house stands 2.5 km from the ancient open - air Theatre of Marcellus, which is a great place to have a fun time.
This Rome hotel offers a place to stay in Esquilino with many Asian and African restaurants, shops and street food stalls, within easy reach of the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. Sights around 30 minutes' walk from the Da Vinci Rome include the Roman Forum. The aqueduct-fed rococo Trevi Fountain lies about 2 km away, while Vittorio Emanuele tube station is only steps away from the accommodation. The closest train station to the hotel is Roma Termini, which is just 10 minutes' walk away.
The allergy-friendly rooms offer a flat-screen cable TV, and overlook the garden. There is also a private bathroom. Providing a bidet and a separate toilet, some bathrooms have a hair dryer and bath sheets.
The restaurant Trattoria Vecchia Roma is located merely 350 metres from Da Vinci Hotel.
Review by hotel critic
As an art historian with a discerning eye for Italian culture, I recently stayed at Double B Carlo Alberto, keen to uncover its blend of luxury and value. The hotel's central location, just a stone's throw from historic landmarks like the Colosseum and Termini station, is undeniably convenient for exploring Rome's treasures. The Wi-Fi connectivity hiccups and unmentioned cash-only payment policy were slight inconveniences that marred an otherwise pleasant stay, especially amidst the current situation, but the cordial staff helped alleviate these issues. The room's cleanliness and comfy bed were noteworthy, though the lack of a warm greeting upon arrival left a bit to be desired. The option for in-room breakfast and shared kitchen facilities added a homely touch, while the proximity to cafes and restaurants catered to varied tastes. While Double B Carlo Alberto offers a fair balance of comfort and convenience, the subtle nuisances hint at a more modest luxury compared to its price point. Ultimately, for those seeking a pragmatic base to explore Rome's historic wonders, the hotel's modest opulence may suffice, but those in search of a more opulent experience might need to seek elsewhere.
